Design

This cafe kiosk is inspired by the brand name “THE LITTLE DUCK.” It abstractly gets the shape of the duckling into a signature symbol. The luminous duckling pattern is presented at different points, enhancing brand recognition. In terms of shape, it discards regular geometric forms and extensively employs gentle curves. From the edge of the bar counter to the decorative components above, the curves are smooth and natural, endowing the space with a dynamic and friendly temperament. The overall design creates a relaxed atmosphere for coffee consumption.

The color selection is mainly fresh and soft mint green and light beige. Mint green is used as the brand color in areas such as the bar counter, partitions, and decorative shelves. The light beige combination neutralizes the liveliness of green and creates a warm and cozy atmosphere. The lighting design is precise. The top-mounted embedded spotlights focus on the operation area and display area, highlighting the products. Decorative light strips outline curved shapes, such as the edges of the bar counter and the outlines of brand symbols. When the lights are turned on at night, they not only guide the consumption flow but also create a dreamy night scene.

Layout

The operation area is with coffee machines, ice makers, storage racks, and other equipment arranged reasonably. The staff’s operation route is short, which improves the efficiency of meal preparation. The exhibition area showcases fresh ingredients and ready-made light meals through open refrigerators. The digital screen displays the information of the dishes, stimulating the desire to consume. The waiting area is adjacent to the operation area, equipped with simple storage counters and signboards to facilitate customers’ collection of food. The consumption area extends to the outside, with tables and chairs placed there. A semi-private space is created by using glass partitions and green plants. The rest area is suitable for needs such as single-person relaxation and small gatherings of many people, allowing customers to flexibly choose their consumption scenarios.

Relying on the existing conditions, such as the columns and passageways in the commercial space, the kiosks are ingeniously embedded. For instance, a circular operation and display area can be created around the columns to maximize the utilization of vertical space. Expanding the consumption area beside the passage does not affect the flow of people on the main channel, and at the same time, it increases the number of customers by taking advantage of the exposure of people in the commercial space. In terms of layout, each area is seamlessly connected, adapting to the fast-paced commercial consumption pattern while also taking into account the leisure consumption experience.

Material

The materials of the kiosk extensively use glass bricks, such as for partitions and the base of the bar counter. Glass bricks have good light transmittance, allowing light from both natural and commercial spaces to be introduced. At the same time, the semi-transparent feature ensures the privacy of the consumption area. Its geometric form collides with the curved shape of the kiosk. In addition, the walls are tiled with light beige, which has a fine texture, is easy to clean, and creates a warm and moist feel. It is paired with green metal and plastic components to achieve a contrast in temperature, softness, and hardness between materials.

The countertop in the operation area is made of quartz stone that is wear-resistant and easy to clean. It can resist the erosion of coffee and oil stains and is not prone to deformation even after long-term use. The seats and bar stools are made of a combination of plastic and metal. Plastic seats are lightweight and have stable colors. The metal bracket is sturdy, with strong load-bearing capacity and durability. Electrical equipment, pipelines, etc., are hidden within the shaped components and are made of fire-resistant and insulating materials. The selection of materials ensures the safety of commercial operations, perfectly integrating aesthetics and practical functions through the materials.
